The Streetscape Committee announces their exciting new Spring Project:
Bloom Your Block

Let's make our blocks bloom! Our goal is to encourage and enable all residents of Union Square to have a nice flower pot with a beautiful, thriving plant on their front steps or sidewalk.

Do you already have a plant? Great! Take a cutting from your garden to share with a neighbor. We will be collecting donations of pots, plants, and soil beginning on March 20, 2011.

Who will have the greenest block? Judging and pictures of each block will begin on Saturday, June 25th.

  1. What a grand idea! In our area many people plant container gardens of veggies mixed with flowers but with the same intent as "bloom your block". Seeds are swapped each year. It's amazing how many veggies can be gown in containers. Veggies in the container center, flowers around the edges, especially trailing flowers. Thanks for giving us some more ideas.
